Middletown
(Northampton Co.)
  Wayside Inn
424 E Wisconsin Ave.
The ghostly figures of Civil War soldiers have been reported in the lobby of the hotel on multiple occasions. It is said that the ghosts are always a pleasant presence. The property was occupied by both the North and the South during the war and was also used as a hospital. Guests and employees have reported both the outlines of soldiers figures to hearing people talking when there is no one else in the room or nearby.

Staunton
(Augusta Co.)
  Thornrose House Inn Gypsy Hill
531 Thornrose Ave.
It is said that the Inn is haunted by a ghost named Caroline. People have reported windows and doors opening and closing on their own, and room keys going missing and turning up in what they call Caroline’s room. There is a possibility that a young girl died from illness in the hotel and that this ghost is somehow related to that. Curtains also open on their own at times.
